Belmont weekend

Great weekend of gambling, drinking, and stories with college friends and others. The trip out to Long Island for the Belmont Stakes has become an annual tradition -- as has incompetent wagering. I lost more than a hundred bucks, but my pal Heather hit an exacta for the big race and went home a big winner. (I don't recall whether Flop's gambling paid off.) Later that night I saw a good college friend in town from Chicago, invented the phrase "smoking like a porcupine," mapped out travel plans for the college football season, and enabled some drunk dialing.

These are horses:

Wait, my co-blogger lost $100 and he thinks I'm the one with the gambling problem? Just because I'm kicking myself for not betting that partial exacta wheel with Afleet Alex I was considering that would have netted me a couple Andrew Jacksons ... alas, I shit the bed, too. The Good Life will have to wait.

A long day of humidity and dehydration plus three Brooklyn Lagers equals way, way, way more bang for your buck where alocohol consumption is concerned.
